No sound on Manjaro unless I disable pulseeffects.

My machine does't play sound by default. It only works when I disable the audio application in Applications menu, bypassing pulseeffects.

There's also to consider that changes have been done recently to gstreamer packages, i.e. now in Arch gst-plugin-gtkis a required pulseeffects dependency which contains gst-plugins-base-libs. Previously was different.

Sorry for the late response. I didn't have the time to install a new version but I'd like to report that PE occasially will have sound. I can't seem find what produces the issue but I realized that pipewire is installed by default on Manjaro. I could be related.

Try to remove this package. PipeWire's compatibility layer for Pulseaudio applications has improved. And maybe this is the reason why the crash is happening after the point I was expecting. But I do not think it matured enough to run our Pulseaudio release without problems. Unless you have a reason to use PipeWire now and are willing to use bleeding edge PulseEffects code targeting PipeWire it is better to stay on Pulseaudio.

I don't really have this package installed, as I have already pointed out. That command was probably run by me AFTER @Digitalone1 asked me whether I have the package installed (27 December). It wasn't clear though tbh. At this point I will probably be waiting for 4.8.3 to be pushed.

Likely an issue related to gstreamer. As I mentioned above, gstreamer packages changed on Arch Linux, maybe because something has been modified by the library side.

This could not be happened or happened in the wrong way on Manjaro. That should be signaled on Manjaro bug report.

@grpan try to run pulseeffects like this GST_DEBUG_FILE=/tmp/gst_pe_log.txt GST_DEBUG=4 pulseeffects. This will save GStreamer's logs to a file. Maybe it will show what is missing in the system.

As it happens most of the time GStreamer's logs were not as enlightening as I would like... @wendellrocha does the crash also happens when all plugins are disabled?

I reset the settings, closed and opened the PE. No sound unless I disable pulseeffects.

@wwmm pt-br 😄 Eu não sei te dizer em qual momento ele parou de funcionar e nem o por quê. Só percebi quando fui ver algum vídeo e estava sem som. Fechei o pulseeffects e voltou a funcionar (até o spectrum parou de funcionar, com o PE habilitado).

Strange. The error did not happen in your second try. PulseEffects pipeline is playing PAUSED -> PLAYING -> VOID_PENDING and reporting its latency total latency: 141 ms. In these cases users where able to fix the lack of sound removing Pulseaudio's configuration folder rm -rf ~/.config/pulse and rebooting.

Sorry for the late response. I fixed the issue in February. If I remember correctly, everything went back to normal when I set the "Use Default" option in the pulseaudio tab from the Settings menu.
