No notification icon appears to say it's monitoring #1

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Opening the app and letting it try to auto update when there is no
signal where it fails to update and has the grey question mark by the monitor.
2. Pressing the back button which takes me to my home screen.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see the notification icon. I don't see one.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.4.3 ? Can't see the verion in the app anywhere, but I downloaded 2 days ago.

OS v1.5

Please provide any additional information below.

It seems fine when the node is "green" and updated successfully.

hi i don't quite understand what you are reporting. if it can't check the site
because
for example the network is unavailable, you should expect to see the gray "?"
until
the time when it can check the site. the gray "?" means it does not know the
state of
the site.

Hi there, sorry for late reply.

Yes that is correct that you get the grey "?" icon until the time when it can
check
the site however I'm on about the notification icon not appearing. Basically
while
the icons are the grey "?" in the app and I then press the "back" button on my
HTC
Hero which takes me to the Home screen, the notification icon in the top bar is
no
longer shown.

You only seem to get the httpmon notification icon appearing in the top bar
when the
server icons are green and ticked and I press the "back" button on my HTC Hero
which
takes me to the Home screen.

Hope this explains it a bit better?

Thanks.

you only get the gray "?" when the monitor is not running. when you press
"back", you won't see the notification icon if no monitors are running ... that
is only to show you that there is something happening in the background.

does that make sense / jive with what you are seeing?

Hi,

Yes I understand that, but if you have no signal when you go into the
application then come back out of the app by pressing the back button, all your
monitors get turned off.

That's the issue that I'm trying to inform you about.

Cheers.

i understand what you are reporting now, thanks. i will try it out myself.
it shouldn't work like that though. if a monitor is started, nothing should
stop it beside pressing the stop button.
