Include recent GHCs in CI config, fix CI, simplify test #59

Hey @wz1000 Today I noticed that I'm added as a maintainer of this package on hackage. This made me feel sudden surge or responsibility so I updated the CI of this package to work with all recent versions of GHC :smile:

CI config regenerated using recent version of haskell-ci, including all the recent 9+ ghc releases
updated tested-with to include the most recent patch version of each major ghc release
simplify one test not to require so much CPP
fix most ghc warnings and few hlint warnings.
