Not sure what is wrong with your Travis CI setup? Also, the go version in there is really old.

go test ./formatter_test.go logrus_prefixed_formatter_suite_test.go

passed OK locally.

I find your library really useful, do you think you can keep maintaining it?

I spent like 1 hour on this PR and I can't figure out how it works. I think it isn't complete yet
