Version differences and compatibilities #325

I'm having trouble finding info on this elsewhere, so here goes:

  1. Are all versions of the Xstation itself the same? Ie, is it only the QSBs that differ?
  2. Is it possible to use a stripped QSB connector for a different version (ie a PU-8 on a PU-18) as long as you hook it up to the correct points on the PS1 main board?

Hey, all xStation boards are the same, and all work in all supported consoles. The only difference is in the QSBs, as you say.

You can rewire any QSB to any of the supported consoles, but it's tricky to map every signal correctly.
