SIP calls dropping after 4:30minutes. Skype after 3:00 minutes? #433

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Setup Sipdroid (latest version) on N1 with pbxes.org
2. Setup Vonage SIP account (softphone) or Vocalocity as the trunk in
pbxes.org or setup the two providers directly with Sipdroid.
3. try to call either a regular number or a skype number. every call is
dropping after an exact amount of minutes.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Calls not to drop. Calls are disconnecting.

What version of the product are you using? On what device/operating system?

Sipdroid 1.4.6 on N1 CM 5.0.6 also happening on previous versions of CM ROMs.

Which SIP server are you using? What happens with PBXes?

I tried to use Vocalocity and Vonage directly with sipdroid. later i setup
a pbxes.org account and tried to use these providers through them. the
result is the same. calls are dropping after 4:30 minutes. Skype calls are
dropping after 3:00 minutes.
This is happening both over wifi and 3g with the screen on or off.
This happens to all numbers i dial.

Which type of network are you using?
Wifi or 3g

Please provide any additional information below.

If i use Fring to connect the sip provider, the calls are not dropping.
connection is stable.
Only when using Sipdroid with the VOIP providers setup directly with
sipdroid or through PBXES, the calls drops after a fixed amount of time.
4:30 minutes for regular calls and 3:00 for calls made to Skype users.

Thoughts?

I'm also seeing the AudioHardwareQSD going to standby in my App, (im using
audiorecord) and im on a nexus one. This is practically the only post on the
entire
internet with "AudioHardwareQSD" in it. And I think our problems are highly
relevant.

Look at this thread I started, I think it provides more proof that there is
something
going on here.

One counterexample...look at the tricorder project from moonblink, I run it on
my
nexus one without the AudioHardwareQSD going to standby.

I am running latest SD 1.5.2beta with CM 5.0.8 .. no luck. Is there a planned
update based on the link above?

So I moved my Vocalocity SIP to pbxes.org as default inbound/outbound, and just
had a 5 minute + call.. Is this pbxes.org masking the issue or just I just get
lucky? If this problem re-occurs, I'll post another comment.

PBXes documents the fact that calls to skype are limited to 3 minutes per this
page: http://www1.pbxes.com/wiki/index.php/Skype
