To be honest, I have not checked windows/port-midi in ages. The problem there with portmidi was selecting and connecting the MIDI ports. By default xjadeo connects to the first physical input.
IIRC on windows currently the only way to customize this would be by creating a file xjadeorc
in your user's home dir (a text file, no .txt extention)
mididriver=portmidi
midiport=1
(where midiport is numeric 0..N)
Thanks for the reply - I have done what you suggested but it still isn't syncing. How can I check if xjadeo is receiving the MTC sent by Cubase?
xjadeo has refused to sync with S1 v3... I used MTC Video Slave before but the creator seems not interested in making money as he has abandoned such a wonderful tool. Styletronix's MTC Sender is cool but not a flexible and smooth as MTC Video Slave.
@mexicanopiumdog Can i buy your MTC Video Slave off you?
@TioDi what DAW are you using? I dont actually own MTC VideoSlave, was working on the 30 day demo version before it expired. I actually found a fix for my problem which was a Quicktime issue - made a video of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WRbX-FVgH0
Hi Community and @x42 !
I have been battling to get a video player to work with my DAW (Cubase 7.5) ever since Apple dropped Quicktime support for Windows. (Quicktime is the only working Video Playback Engine inside Cubase)
I saw someone else posting about hooking up rtpMIDI and xjadeo together with Cubase but I couldn't get it to work on my end.
What I'm doing is I am sending MTC signal from my DAW to the MIDI port/session I created in rtpMIDI and then enabling/setting my sync source in xjadeo to MTC (PortMidi).
However the video file I loaded into xjadeo isn't scrubbing/playing when I scrub inside my DAW, it doesnt seem to sync.
I have previously been using MTCVideoSlave and syncing was no problem so it can't really be my DAW? I urgently need to get my video playback working again as I have a ton of client work coming up.
So any help will be much appreciated!
Thanks Ivo
