Is there anyone tracking this issue who would be willing to try a development
version
to try to help me debug this? Please contact dave.revell@gmail.com if you're
willing.
Cheers,
Dave

I too have this problem on both mine and my wifes G2. we have the updated ROM
and
version 1.11 for SwiFTP.
I did manage to connect once using firefox, but have never managed replicate
this, or
to connect with XP explorer to transfer files.
I also tried on air with no luck. Maybe its an issue with the Hero.
Thx, M

I tried to connect using my HTC Hero and Windows Explorer, Firefox, and
FileZilla and
did not have luck with any of them.
HTC Info:

Build number 1.56.651.2 CL85027

With Windows Explorer, I got the message: Windows cannot access this folder.
Make
sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to access
the
folder. Details: A connection with the server could not be established.
With FileZilla, I got the message:
Status: Connection attempt failed with "ETIMEDOUT - Connection attempt timed
out".
With Firefox, I got the message: The server at 192.168.x.yyy is taking too long

It appears to me that the problem is with Vista. I have a DroidX and both a
laptop with Vista and a server with Windows Server 2003. After installing
SwiFTP, I can access the DroidX without a problem from Windows Server 2003, but
when I try to access it from Vista I get an error "A connection with the server
could not be established". From both computers am using MSIE 8.
An attempt to connect to DroidX FTP also failed using WS-FTP Pro from the Vista
computer, as did an attempt to use Firefox instead of MSIE.
Have tried all possible recipes I can find for Vista connection, including the
"Map network drive" approach, the type the URL directly into MSIE approach, and
the include the name and password in the URL you type directly into MSIE
approach. Under Vista all approaches fail the same way.
