Hello @pnrxtx @Vlad00n @dormancygrace, I have a Z170 Extreme4 as well. Could someone please send me the modified bios or upload it here? I would really appreciate it.
I've decided to upload the BIOS file in github. SO here is the link for downloading.
We need to change few things then. @pnrxtx any updates on your situation?
So should I better not flashing for now and wait for an update?
Yes, it's better to wait for "final" bios )
I would like to inform you that BIOS was uploaded again.

it works!
Asus Z170-A working with Intel Arc A750, tested 516 MB and it didn't work, increased it to 8 GB and it works. I did use UEFIPatch.
I followed the guide here to flash: https://winraid.level1techs.com/t/guide-how-to-flash-a-modded-ami-uefi-bios/30627 and I used afuwin to do so.
ReBAR works in my system :
Extra Notes : I need to downgrade my BIOS to F52 first (uses AGESA 1.0.0.6), then update the BIOS using modded BIOS with ReBAR inside (in this case I'm using modded F64a - AGESA 1.2.0.8 that has ReBAR support to update from F52). And because I'm running Windows 11, disable TPM + Secure Boot and clear the Secure Boot keys is a must when doing update and downgrade
MSI Z170A Gaming M5 i7-6700K Intel A770 LE UEFIPatch required
@NedDarb if you can upload a screenshot showing cpu-z also (along with arc control and gpu-z rebar) it would be helpful
Motherboard: Jingsha X99 D8 GPU: Arc A770 BAR size unlimited UEFIPatch: N Resume from sleep: works
Without any problems
Thank you
@xCuri0 attached. Note I am having some issues with the mobo at the moment. CPU-Z only reports that its in PCIe 1X mode, and I've had issues with SPD reporting. Also have the wake from sleep issues some have reported with the A770 card, not sure if that's all related or not. Anyway, if there's anything else just let me know.
@NedDarb i see you have high idle power usage. did you try the ASPM fix Intel says ?
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000092564/graphics.html
i think it reporting x1 is just a CPU-Z issue since GPU-Z reports it correctly
ReBAR works in my system :
Gigabyte Z170-HD3 (need modded BIOS in order to activate Resizeable BAR, due to motherboard limitation) intel i7-6700K Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB Using unlimited size option for ReBAR Extra Notes : I need to downgrade my BIOS to f22c first(uses Qflash) , then update the BIOS using modded BIOS with ReBAR inside (in this case I'm using modded f22f ). but “Invalid BIOS image”appears when flashing,Use the Efiflash_v0.87_DOS_Mod tool, get into FreeDOS, in the command prompt type in “efiflash NAMEOFBIOS.rom”,then it worked
@xCuri0 I've been digging for the settings in MSI's BIOS but can't find them. Tried looking for anything related to PCI power management and nothing is there. The only time ASPM is mentioned is under the Thunderbolt settings, but I think that only applies to downstream devices when a Thunderbolt adapter card is installed. At this point hoping they can address on the driver side, same with the wake from sleep issues. Not sure if its related, but I'm also seeing higher CPU temps at idle compared to when the 1070 was installed. Either way, I really appreciate the tool. Its buying me time to collect parts for a new mobo/cpu/ram combo.
@NedDarb you can check hidden settings with IFR Extractor (see enabling hidden 4g decoding in wiki) or AMIBCP. My motherboard only has it visible there
@NedDarb ASPM might be hidden, might need to use AMIBCP for it or modgrub.
Here is Native ASPM (this one on RC ACPI Settings):
Here is Enable ASPM (this might be for Thunderbolt ones):
Motherboard: ASRock z-170 k4/d3 GPU: 6700xt I can't open the "above 4g decoding" or "above 4g mmio bios assignment" when I turn this to enable ,it can't work, can't into windows system .
then when i try to use modGRUBShell.efi
setup_var 0x3 0x0
reboot
setup_var 0x3 0x1
but there is nothing happend
It makes me very depressed. Can you give me some suggestions
@jnyk So even with 4G decoding on you cannot boot 16GB BAR ? Do you have all the patches applied and CSM off ? If you are getting blank screen you could also try connecting monitor to iGPU
It's an ASRock board so if Windows isn't booting or giving a driver error with 4G decode you need to do DSDT fix. The wiki has a page for doing this
I have seted CSM off ,because i can not switch above 4g on ,i can set resize-bar <=1024m. Thank you for your help ,i think i can try to do DSDT fix

You don't need dsdt fix.
@dormancygrace may be you're right , but so that how can i make above 4g work
I'll make bios for you, just wait for couple hours
@dormancygrace That's so kind of you. Oh one more thing,my cpu is 8700k ,my origin bios is modifimodified micro code Z17GK4D3.zip
No problem, I add coffee lake support. Any specific uCode version you want?

@dormancygrace That's so goog ,thank you for your help , i don't know any uCode version ,this bios is make by @dsanke .He is the one who did all the modifications, after which I just flashed the ROM using Instant Flash.
Ok

Working, with a setup similar to xCuri0's. Sandy Bridge Gigabyte motherboard, Ivy Bridge CPUs (both Xeon and i5 work). GPU is Sapphire RX 470 8GB with one dead power phase removed and BIOS modded to get card out of 300Mhz "limp mode" : https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/rx-470-mining-back-from-the-dead-zombie-edition.270576/
Motherboard: z68ma-d2h-b3 (U1C "beta" BIOS, the only UEFI BIOS released for this board) RAM: 8GB or 16GB work GPU: RX 470 8GB (bios modded to "RX 580") BAR size tested: 8GB UEFI patch required: Yes Resume from sleep: Works Notes: Had to use MMTOOL for pad file issue Oddities: I had two UEFI settings for "0x3," the UEFI entry I needed to set to 0x1. By default, one was set to "0x0" and the other to "0x1". I assumed both needed to be set to "0x1" (or at least it wouldn't hurt) and performed "setup_var 0x3 0x0" (reboot) and "setup_var 0x3 0x1" (reboot). I also had two errors in the .dsl file that had to be corrected to compile it to the .aml file.

As I understand, after enabling 4gb decode, mb don't see any drives

I checked dsdt from @jnyk and from @Vlad00n bioses - they are identical (in parts, that are mentioned in https://github.com/xCuri0/ReBarUEFI/wiki/DSDT-Patching)
@jnyk please, open separate issue
@dormancygrace https://github.com/xCuri0/ReBarUEFI/issues/38 a separate issue
@NedDarb ASPM might be hidden, might need to use AMIBCP for it or modgrub.
Thanks for checking @Koekieezz. Might be a bit out of my depth proceeding, but will give it a try. Suspect I might need to reflash anyway, not sure what I did when patching was 100% correct.
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z270P-D3 (rev. 1.0) CPU: I7-7700k RAM: 16GB GPU: ARC A770 8GB BAR size tested: 8GB (set to unlimited) UEFI patch required: Yes Resume from sleep: Works Notes: Had to enable hidden 4G decoding. Need to use the section in Setup from searching for "Above 4G" and not the section from searching for "4G Decod". Needed to use modified Efiflash running from FreeDOS to flash modified BIOS due to Qflash "Invalid bios image" error.
Hi @kodekq @xCuri0 , i saw you got the ReBar working on ASUS z170-a. I have the same motherboard and successfully build my patched version with UEFITool and UEFIpatch. Now I'm unsure how to check for the pad-file issue, I fear that if the BIOS won't boot I bricked my motherboard. Can you help me out? Z170-A-ASUS-3802.zip
@u238 the wiki explains how to check for pad file issue in the uefipatch page

Hi, I hope I understand well:
Seems ok to me, is it? Thank you very much for all your effort and help!!
First of all big Thank You to people who made this possible!
Motherboard: ASUS Z97-P
GPU: RX 6600
I DID apply patch using UEFIPatch, but DIDN'T do DSDT Patch.
BAR Sizes: BAR0 8192 MB, BAR1 256 MB
16GB of 1866Mhz RAM
Resume from sleep does work as before.
CPU overclock applies as before and works as before.
Only one thing, after flashing modified BIOS, RAM overclocking doesn't apply when I set desired frequency it stays Default 1866Mhz no matter what GPU is in PC and Resizable BAR "on" or "off". It's not big deal for me, probably not much point running RAM at bit higher frequency as I did before at 2200Mhz.
@janiss561 if u connect monitor to motherboard instead of GPU does RAM OC work then ?

No it does not work, when connected to iGPU or GTX 980 Ti. When patching BIOS I did choose only these three, wasn't too sure.

do you still have your modded bios before rebar? or you did use original bios? just rebar for this mod?
I used original BIOS from ASUS website and only did this REBAR mod.

Thank You soooo much!!! All my OC settings work now!!! You are the greatest! I did set RAM at 2133Mhz!
@janiss561 Did you do the pad file workaround when making your BIOS. It was probably that Intel ME got corrupted in some way and the BIOS by Koekieezz was made properly.
I didn't do pad file workaround, thought that it will be ok. Missed something, first time ever doing something like that, good that I didn't F up worse. Thank You all! Stressful my heart was pounding and hands shaking during boot! XD

i believe that there is something missing in your bios, this one i provide to you, got everything latest (igpu Orom at version 1044 and igpu efi rom at 5.5.0.34, stock bios were outdated), got latest known working efirom and orom for realtek (efi - 2.057, orom - 2.67), and uses ME version 9.1.40 (stock were 9.1.25) which i believe that ME version does affect stability for the system (i had this issues on my own pc, updated to latest me firmware and got ddr4 4133 running stable again with no timings and other stuff changed, so yeah apparently ME version does affect stability on OC ing, besides Mcode).
if you're familiar with installing (updating) driver, i recommend to update the ME Driver from this link, and Chipset driver here: Chipset Driver.zip INF file is easy to install, just extract here, then go to device manager, right click the chipset name (sometimes it's called LPC) on device manager, properties, update driver, choose driver, then copy the folder (Chipset Driver folder) address and put it there. there should be a driver for the dram too. so you might want to give a SS of System devices and send it here if you're not sure which is which.
iGPU Driver Link Here
so do it all in 1 run (Chipset and other like dram etc etc -> me driver -> igpu), then reboot.
once you install them all and reboot, run this app and see if you're using the latest ME Firmware CSME-Detection-Tool-Legacy-GUI.zip
Oh also look up on dxdiag 1st page and cpuz -> mainboard tab. version should be different to differentiate the bios (less confusing)
Motherboards which don't support at least 2GB BAR size are considered not working.
