Crash with Traveler's Notebook #212

Basic details

Describe the issue

A clear description of what the issue is. My game crashes when using the twilight forest traveler's log, it worked fine at first until I opened the building the portal task. Now every time I open it the game crashes.

@PhantomEmerald Did you mean to close the issue?

Reziax commented 9 months ago

Is there a way to reset the logbooks's "memory" of where we left off? When opening again after the crash it instantly crashes again, since it seems to remember what the last viewed page is, so it opens up on the portal page. The rest of the book is still accessible, so is there a way to make it open on the index page, as if reading it for the first time?

@Reziax I'm not sure, but you can simply discard of it and (using "cheats") get a new Akashic Tome with all the guide books.

That's the thing, even when spawning a new akashic tome or reverting the logbook back to the tome, or even spawning/crafting a standalone logbook, it always opens back on the portal page. I guess it's either a default minecraft or a book mod feature that saves what page you left off the last time you read it.

@Reziax You can edit or reset the patchouli_data.json file in the modpack installation folder, just make sure to restart the client.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. Yes deleting the "twilightforest:world/portal" entry from the history data in the patchouli_data.json works indeed. Thanks!

Another workaround is manually updating Patchouli to this patched version: https://github.com/ACGaming/Patchouli/releases/tag/1.0-24 This will be included by default in the next versions of the modpack.
