Basic details

  1. Are you using a legitimate launcher and Minecraft account: yes
  2. Are you using a computer with 8GB or more of RAM? (How to check): yes
  3. Are you using Java 8, 64-bit? (How to check): yes

Information required

  1. Crash/latest log link (Where to find): link here
  2. Is Optifine installed or any other additional mods: no

Issue description The game crashes every few hours or so without a crash report. The most common error in the logs is Couldn't render entity java.lang.NullPointerException: null. I am the only one out of my friends who crashes due to this. Not sure if it's relevant, but I'm using the Faithful x32 pack by xcMrVizzy & Vattic. Any help with this would be much appreciated!

How does it crash? The game window just closes? Can you find a Java crash log in your game installation folder?

SalArtem commented 7 months ago

The game window quickly closes without an error. I only posted the latest log file because the crash reports didn’t have anything for that day (in both the modded and .minecraft versions). Is the Java crash log different from the “the-1122-pack”->”crash-reports” folder?

xJon commented 7 months ago

Yes, such log would be in the main modpack folder.

I believe I found what you were asking for. Link: here This was in the .technic folder

It mentions this: the-1122-pack\hs_err_pid13988.log, can you share it?

SalArtem commented 7 months ago

Pastebin isn't letting me copy the entire file, but hopefully, this is enough information: hs_err_pid13988.log Here's another instance of the crash from a day after (and it looks like the error is different): hs_err_pid23728.log

Indeed it appears to be a Java crash - these are most common due to computer memory issues, and are not game or modpack specific. I'd recommend you to run HCI Design's MemTest according to its recommended instructions.

I see, thank you for your time!

I haven’t been able to fix the root issue, but I’m adding this comment as I found a workaround. By playing the game in fullscreen, instead of borderless fullscreen, it hasn’t crashed once and it’s been at least a week.
