Bolt models together #2339

Frequently, models are composed of several basic models. An example would be the Boscoyo 180 Mini tree and star.

This is perfectly simple to model using New Tree, and New Star.

I would wish to request that having built these two (perhaps more) models, and aligned them, that they then be selectable (Shift left mouse) and "bolted together" creating a ?custom?/?Super? Model, that can be manipulated as a single item, rather than forget to use cut and paste, followed by one to many redo's with attendant frustration.

I understand the desire for this but it wont be trivial to implement. Have you tried locking models to minimise the accidental moving of them.

Keith, I suspected it would be more than tricky to create a composite class. I'm afraid, the cock ups tend to be poorly executed deliberate acts.

Would it be slightly simpler to enable the automagical creation of a custom model from a collection of primitive models perhaps?

Merging into a custom model is a pretty poor option. Custom models have resolution issues that make them really unsuitable.

There have been a couple of the same requests.
