5 years ago Hi Roket, this is definitely planned (as are many things). Currently I need to rewrite most of the plugin to work with the new versions of Cinema 4D (R20+) as the backend for Cinema 4D has changed drastically and is no longer compatible with the existing code base. I've taken this time to also rewrite a VTF/VMF library as the current one we use (VTFLib) is buggy and outdated.
Here is the current roadmap:
- VTF Library (about 70% done).
- VTF Program similar to VTFEdit -- but better, hopefully ;) (about 50% done).
- Cinema 4D Source Tools for R20+ with VTF import/export (about 20% done).
- SMD Import (not started).
- SMD Export (not started).
- Map Importer (VMF).
- Map Importer (BSP).
These goals are pretty vague at the current time. I've unfortunately been very busy with school/work as well as had a surgery recently so have been taking time off of coding completely. I do hope to get back to work on these goals as soon as possible. A very ROUGH ETA for SMD Export would be around the end of 2019 at the current rate, hopefully I'm able to clear some time up and get it done quicker of course :-)
Could we please get an ability to export SMD models along with importing them? It would remove a rather annoying step of exporting the model to another program then exporting to SMD from there, which, while doing that, might mess up something like the scale.
