Adjusting the height of the panel #50

This is a...

Brief Description

Being able to adjust the height of the whole panel

(If Feature Request) Describe it.

If you only have a few speedrun times (I have four), the panel is pretty long and there's empty space at the bottom. Also I'd prefer to have a small panel on my Twitch page, so I chose smaller fonts but the panel remains the same height, making 2/3rd of the panel empty. So it would be nice if you could change the height (with a certain minimum maybe to keep it reasonable), although I don't know how complicated that would be.

Unfortunately this cannot be done at this time, the height of the panel is configured on Twitch's extension dashboard and can't be changed by users. At the moment it is at the maximum size that twitch allows for the panels.

However I agree with you and I don't see why users can't control the height of their extensions themselves, or atleast give extension developers the ability to allow it to be adjusted, as I could see some developers wanting to force a size, for this panel it doesnt matter.

I would suggest suggesting this in the extension forums https://discuss.dev.twitch.tv/c/extensions , if you don't get around to it I will throw the suggestion in there when I get a chance. Although twitch appears to move incredibly slowly on things here, (there hasnt been a single major change or update since it first launched back in september to give you an idea lol, unless you want to count the new feature to allow microtransactions 👎 )

The only possible solution I can see to this problem in the short term is to release a duplicate of the extension, with a different height value, but I'm not sure how many people would actually take advantage of it, and its still not customizable.

I understand, I suspected some limitation by twitch would be a problem for this. For me around 300px would be optimal, but having two extensions is maybe too much of a hassle. Thanks for your reaction and consideration!

Ya, and for other people 300px might be too little since they have several games that they run, its hard to make something that fits everyones needs which is why having it customizable would be perfect.

If you have any ideas maybe that could fill up some of the dead space that would be useful to you, that might be a solution. But I'm sure eventually you'll have more runs to fill up the space 👍
