I just need some information from you to be able to assist you.
Did you install ps2 classics via github or are you using a debug build ? What Windows Version are you running ?
Also can you check that .net framework is installed on your machine ?
I used the V1 installer and let the program update itself to the latest. also have tried the debug with it doing the same thing.
I am using Win10 build 1909, and .net 4/3/2 are all installed.
I should note that the exe inside the folder "PS4 PS2 Classics GUI_1_0_0_3" in the v1 installer zip does work, just nothing newer does(im assuming anything WPF)
Also a lil bit more info that might help, when first launching it does seem to work fine asking if you want to move the install to another drive and asking if you know how to use the application. but after you answer those few questions and that window disappears its just the small white window shown.
Thanks for that info ... that is a bit strange as im not sure what would cause this. WPF does require a proper working Graphics Driver But your saying the default temp folder dialog and question box did appear?
Did you set one of those settings by any chance ?
yes the dialog box after first installing appeared and i set the settings it asked for. its after that it does the white screen from then on. and as for the drivers i have latest intel and nvidia drivers so it shouldnt be that.(note i have both installed as this is a gaming laptop that uses intel during non intensive taskes and auto switches to nvidia on more intense stuff). I tried doing as much troubleshooting as i could on my own as it has to be just me or there just hasnt been anyone else running this with a gaming laptop. as i havnt seen a single issue like this on the many psx forums.
I originally thought it was a video/rendering issue as ive had other programs(reicast emulator) do weird stuff unless i set the primary graphics adapter in the nvidia control panel to nvidia. Though sadly i cant test that out for sure as wpf applications cant be configured in nvidia control panel for some dumb reason.
I have been digging around on Stack Overflow it definitely has to do with your on board graphics that's all i can think of Its strange that the first time it loaded.
i would like to build a debug build for you a bit later then mind running that one ?
just to see if it happens anywhere else
ill help out as much as i can, will test w/e you need me too.
Hi There ,
I had a similar issue recently with one of my clients.
Can you run system update sfc /scannow ?
And check it then there are also a few updates to .net that was missing for the users machine.
He was also running a vm that had some graphic options disabled not sure if you can check that ?
I can confirm it happens on my old Socket 775 motherboard that has no onboard graphics.
I can however go into the downloaded folder from the release and open it with the file called "PS4 PS2 Classics GUI.application" however i've yet to be able to make any of my ISOs that work on my PS2 freeMCB to convert and actually work on the PS4. Converts to .pkg successfully but then does not at all work after installation on PS4. Loads game and gives corrupt save messages or just throws an error right away.
Now is this because i'm using it instead of getting the installation to work? I was able to get the install to work on Windows 7 but i don't have enough free space to make imgs on it it was a 32 bit installation i was using for old games only so it doesn't have much room in there. I'm going to try and extend the drive enough to make a few imgs and see if thats what is causing the issues.
Temp fix for the white screen on boot https://github.com/xXxTheDarkprogramerxXx/PS3Tools/pull/215
Program wont startup, just a white screen that cant be clicked nor closed except for ctrl/alt/del.
im assuming this is due to my laptop having dedicated+integrated graphics and its cant render the gui correctly?
If there is a way i can get a log of some type i would love to submit it.
