[Errno socket error] timed out

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Click refresh channel list
2. I can't download channel list -- says error timeout on xterm

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Get the channel list

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
sopcast-player 0.3.0

Please provide any additional information below.

I fixed changing the file FileDownload.py
with socket.setdefaulttimeout(60) -- from 10 to 60, maybe less it works
too, but the server is very slow

This is an issue with the channel guide from www.sopcast.com. I am working on
re-hosting the channel guide on Google App Engine, more to follow.

Re-hosting efforts have failed. Would cost to much using app-engine. However, 
sopcast.com seemed to have upgraded their infrastructure, not seeing the slow 
speeds like before.
