When in command mode, either the cap letters have bindings, or not.
but binding cap letters means pressing shift key. I experimented fe months , twice, a year or two apart, and decided against any shift key. As the shift key in normal keyboard positions induce Repetitive Strain Injury.
so, the situation is that caps letter insert cap letters even in command mode. Not sure if there's a better solution. But a small advantage is that in some modes such as dired that uses cap letters as command, one does not need to switch to insert mode first.
It gets a little worse if you activate caps lock. I do use caps lock sometimes when writing macros or dealing with weird code guidelines. Just another input. I see the advantage of having them useful in dired and others.
While in command mode, I'm able to insert any capital letter. I think this shouldn't be the case.
