If the user cancels a connection in progress, before the socket has connected to the remote host, (such as when connecting to a server that doesn't actually exist) the interface isn't properly "reset" to its original state. The "cancel connection" toolbar and menu items are never changed back into "connect" items, and they remain disabled.
