Using the above sample and steps I was not able to reproduce the issue on my environment.
Windows: VS16.7.5 + Xamarin.iOS 14.0.0.0. (all details below) Mac linked: Catalina 10.15.7. + xcode 12.0.1 (among other things, its recent enough for iOS14). I let my windows machine manage the Xamarin.iOS version to use. I checked now and it's Xamarin.iOS 14.0.0.0

At the moment, we've encountered multiple freezing issues when we open a project that has a reference of the latest beta version of Xamarin.Firebase.iOS.Crashlytics (4.0.0-beta,7) on visual studio 2019 version 16.7.3 and greater. I've listed a list of issues related to Visual studio that have been reported by our team below:
How to reproduce those issues?
Workaround The issue does not exists if we open the project on Visual Studio 16.7.2
