In the mac Material Design tab of the color editor, select the black color on the bottom-right. This brings up the white and black choices. Both have a grey border, but the contrast between that border and the inner fill looks different for black and white. For the white box, it makes it appear 1-2 pixels taller. A fix would probably be to make the border darker on the white side.
