Intel 8th Gen i5 6 core, 16Gb Ram, 500Gb Kingston NVMe, Sonoma. Board is mix of Coffee lake and Cannon Lake chipsets. Yes I generated my own Serial, UUID and MLB

Yes, i just modified the Serial UUID & MLB (tried a couple of other tweaks first, including MAC as ROM but that would not boot) Sound is CONEXTANT. I have now added AirportBrcmFixup.kext but not edited config.plist yet. (opinions differ on that, may or may not be needed. Maybe for Sonoma now do need Broadcom software).

i edited USBPorts-16.kext for 14 or 15 USB's inc HS14 for the Bluetooth and moved it to USBPorts.kext Took out SS10 and now the Keyboard stays on after login. its in Rear Bottom Right, the one now with no USB3.

My previous hack was a Haswell laptop, running Big Sur, no sound or WiFi - and that is more difficult on a laptop. That took me 2 months to get it running.

Like your video, and was sold on the promise of sound and WiFi! Running this as a web server, and nameserver 24/7 solar power, it's on a high shelf, so using Screen Sharing from a real MacBook. Display is VGA to VGA. DP to HDMI cuts out (when i had both, HDMI showed bootup, VGA showed Mac Desktop. Eg. i had to add the VGA monitor to see the Apple login when i first installed it)

Thanks.

sound would be a bonus, WiFi / Bluetooth Air support could be useful, including from iPhone.

Mike-Bou commented 1 month ago

Found that your supplied USBPorts.kext was ok with 16 USB entries, including the HS14 used internally by Broadcom Bluetooth. Tried installing more kexts, AiportBrcmFixup, and /Plugins/AirportBrcmNIC_Injector.kext BrcmFirmwareData.kext BrcmPatchRAM3.kext BlueToolFixup.kext but it would not boot. Updated Kexts to latest versions. Updated OC to 1.0.2 all ok with the original config.plist. Now Hackintool shows USB HS14: BCM20702A0 Sound shows Conexant CX20632 Device 0x8086A348 Subdevice 0x103C83E2 Codec 0x14F1098 revision 0x0000 And Intel Kabykake HDMi device 0x8086A348 subdevice 0x8086280B revision 0x0000. AppleHDADriver 0xA348 says may need to spoof audio device ID. conextant 0x5098. is max kernel 13 wrong?

No am not in UK, but lived near Sellafield in Cumbria, until 18. Have visited Barrow and Walney Island. Have some friends who are Barrow AFC supporters.

In Philippines Facetime does not work.

Still no sound or WiFi - Bluetooth. OpencCore Patcher says:

But no mention of SIP or AMFI in config.plist.

I did not have the WiFi card when i installed Sonoma.

The HP G4 mini is otherwise working well, (apart from occasional USB Keyboard not working after login, it is working at the moment) and i access it it through screen sharing.

Updated my MacBook Pro to Sequoia, had 1 Kernel Panic reboot to Report to Apple.

Awaiting a new 500Gb NVMe to try installing Sequoia on that; i didn’t realise the MacMini8,1 was supported, without AI.

Thanks,

Mike Bouckley

Hi,

tried to install Sequoia, first time failed to boot. Then my Sonoma disk stopped connecting to internet - seems to be it now refuses to run bind9 nameserver, was very slow with coloured whiring mouse prompt. (i thought it was xcode 16 at first, which i use to run OpenCore Configurator - which even works on Sequoia. also use xcode commandline tools for brew; and macports - which also wanted the latest version 16.

so installed windows 11, which had sound, only quiet from speakers, not line out. Also could detect WiFi networks, but not connect (was using 5Ghz only on router) Caused problems later, with boot keys, and wrote Microsoft stuff in EFI’s on NVMe and USB! Installed Sequoia successfully (initially mac os could not detect the blank new NVMe)

Sequoia also stopped working online due to bind9 named. I disabled it, it is ok now.

Sequoia blocks Hackintool & OpenCore Auxiliary Tools.

did get diskutil list to show efi, which is now invisible in Disk Utility app. made sudo /Volumes/efi sudo mount /dev/disk0s1 /Volumes/efi and copied the OC EFI to it. Not rebooted yet, but obviously can boot from USB, no Microsoft stuff in these ones.

Still have working bind9 nameserver on my M1MacBook, but that sleeps at night. Installed bind9 on a debian 12 linux machine, worked immediately and this time got it working with my local domain.

I have the next update to BIOS after the latest listed in deevee’s post.

The WiFi card may not be fully compatible with HP. was listed as hackintosh compatible.

Still no sound, was hoping to see Hackintool output, which i lost images of, but i see the results here, below i did update config.plist for the codec

Still have a working Sonoma disk, which i had reinstalled, but not installed now, keep as spare.

Both NVMe’s and 2 USB boot drives on OC102. main difference is OpenHfsPlus.efi replacing HfsPlus.efi. Otherwise my config.plist is still based on yours.

There is a good video on YT by Technoli Sequoia 15 Hackintosh Complete Installation and Wifi/Bluetooth Fixes

on Asus mobo.

but for itl wifi. waiting for new broadcom drivers.

He shows how Apple blocking apps can be undone, individually, in Settings, Privacy & Security scroll down and any recent (current session) apps blocked are listed and can be run anyway. usually asks password each time

So now had Hackintool working, it shows no info about Sound (like again early on in Sonoma) shows USB HS14 connected to Bluetooth
