Fix for: Property 'children' does not exist error #167

I'm getting the error shown in issue #166 , this change seems to fix it.

@xanderdeseyn I am currently getting this error in my code, and I cannot move on without this issue being resolved. If you would be able to merge this pull request to fix the issue, that would be amazing. Thank you

This would be great to merge, as I'm also running into this error and it is a simple fix. Currently, I'm using patch-package to get around this, but it's not ideal.
