System tray icon won't stay put #845

Ever since updating to 1.16.0 (and still after updating to 1.16.1), the system tray icon won't stay where I put it.

I've kept it right here the whole time I've used twinkle tray and it always stayed there before. image

But now it keeps moving to the left like this: image

And sometimes it disappears into the ^ and I have to get it back out of there.

After restarting the computer, the icon will return to "^"

Can you give this build a try and let me know if it stops moving?:

(Whoops, wrong build.)

Actually meant this build, whoops: https://github.com/xanderfrangos/twinkle-tray/actions/runs/11203745164/artifacts/2021022621

For me it also happens if it goes to sleep.

Doesn't seem to be helping

Guess I can't fix one thing without it breaking things for other users. I give up on trying to fix visual bugs with the tray icon...

There's no reason this one should move it around: https://github.com/xanderfrangos/twinkle-tray/actions/runs/11206473310/artifacts/2021555751

That seems to have fixed it. Thanks!

This one fixed the problem. I haven't tried the other one.

Edit: In fact, not completely, only when it returns from sleep mode or after a restart. But the problem still persists when changing displays, either by removing the secondary display, losing the primary one by closing the lid (I use a laptop) or changing the display settings (Show only on 1, Show only on 2, Duplicate these displays, Extend these displays).

Has the system tray icon been behaving for everyone lately?

electricbrass commented 2 days ago

Its been working fine for me since the build from 3 weeks ago.

Version v1.16.3 solved the problem. I tested it by restarting, putting it on hold and changing the number of displays. Thanks! :)
