Porting to CodeIgniter 3.x #4

Hi, I would like to port this application to CodeIgniter 3 as we're going to use it for an event as a part of our college fest. I couldn't see any contribution guidelines, would you accept pull requests? Regards

Pull requests are welcome, thank you so much! I haven't made any major changes / upgrades after using it for our event in 2013.
