We didn't touch these ever since creating the package, but we need to be up-to-date with these. SPEC0 (and optionally xarray's mechanism to make sure irregularly released projects don't end up with a single supported release) seems like a good fit, but I do feel a bit bad for skipping that many versions at once (4 for numpy, another 4 for xarray and 3 for pint).
