Default graphic settings give me less than 15 fps on a i7/3080 PC. I do notice the GPU was not much utilized so there must be a bottleneck on CPU. This issue worsens when the system menu is pulled up, where the frame rate drops to less than 5 fps.
For the performance issue I wanted to lower the graphic settings, but clicking on the settings panel is also faulty with my Index controllers.
In the main screen, changing graphic settings by clicking on the arrows only highers the settings. If the item box is clicked and highlighted accidentally, the settings cannot be changed anymore. Sometimes, clicking on the arrows leaves a white box around the arrows. Plus, the panel is too far away to read the texts on it.
In game, the setting actually changes both ways, but whenever the white box is triggered, I can not change that item anymore.
A, B, and Y buttons do not work for the index controller.
Those are the issues I found thus far, which basically made the game not playable at the moment. There are some side notes, as a "loyal customer" or a supporter that is so much attached to the journey of this game instead of an alpha tester, that I want to give in the following points. Please, consider them my most sincere words.
This game needs an "operation health" rather than adding more content at this stage imo. I was so impressed by MMVS 0.3 back in 2019 when I just got my first VR set and found this game. It was very optimized in performance and thoroughly designed between levels. When I know everything except some audio work was done by a single person, I consider that person a genius. Do not misunderstand, but I still think so :b. The release of MMVS 0.4 just put another layer of amazement on this game, but problems like the well-known ERROR_NAME and never-angered Talas AI also made debut. As a fellow programmer, I understand the new features such as AI-based actions replacing the scripts and being the first few to transition from UE4 to UE5 gave exponentially more pain behind the scene. Although the development logs show that the codes were refactored and submodules were created for the sake of maintenance, more issues around the performance and bugs came out as new builds released. Now that this is yet another alpha build open for major improvements, I would suggest using some time polishing the existing systems, making sure they work for the audience before adding more content. I had high hope for the lumen and inshoe scene but so far I still cannot enjoy them smoothly in VR. We are witnessing the growth of probably the greatest furry niche game to date, and we will keep supporting you, the architect.
