2.2 FroYo with 1.23 SwiFTP causes chroot violation #64

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install 2.2/FroYo (mine was a press handset so it was legit OTA)
2. Config SwiFTP for your network and user login settings
3. Connect with a FTP client to the phone (using Cyberduck on Mac)

What is the expected behavior? What do you see instead?
Proper directory list or connection and transfers.
Instead an immediate "invalid name or chroot violation occurs"
Clicking try agin sometimes works.
File transfers also yield this:

220 SwiFTP 1.23 ready
USER user
331 Send password
PASS ********
230 Access granted
FEAT
211-Features supported
 UTF8
211 End
OPTS UTF8 ON
200 OPTS accepted
CWD /
550 Invalid name or chroot violation
QUIT
221 Goodbye

What version of SwiFTP are you using?
1.23

What operating system are you using?
2.2

Which FTP client are you using?
Cyberduck

Which Android device do you have (Nexus, Droid, Hero, G1, etc.)?
Nexus One

May we contact you by email to ask questions? If so, what is your email
address?

Please provide any additional information below.

Try this:
Go to Run command
type this:
"explorer.exe ftp://username:password@192.168.1.xxx:2121/sdcard"
Thanks to one android user "jcompute...@gmail.com".

thx piyushin !

it's kind of logical - if the smartphone is rooted, then / works, else
directories under / are protected - after all it's a linux.
