Can not open contents of folder using global proxy #88

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem? Please include as much detail as
possible.
1.Swiftp running on Motorola Droid, rooted, 2.1 stock
2.Connect to global proxy url listed in swiftp app using winxp explorer
3.Box pops up for username and password, input both values
4.
5.
6.

What is the expected behavior? What do you see instead?
I expected my files in the selected folder to show up. Instead, I can see that
explorer "connects" and then begins searching for contents of the folder. After
10-15 seconds, I get an error message as follows:

An error occurred opening that folder on the FTP server. Make sure you have
permission to access that folder. Details: the operation timed out.

I've attempted changing the folder that swiftp is relegated to, /sdcard,
/sdcard/music, etc and that hasn't seemed to affect the issue. Works flawlessly
over wifi. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

What version of SwiFTP are you using?
Swiftp Server 1.24

What operating system are you using?
Win XP

Which FTP client are you using?
Explorer, Chrome

Which Android device and version do you have (Nexus, Droid, Hero, G1,
etc.)?
Motorola Droid, 2.1 stock, rooted

May we contact you by email to ask questions? If so, what is your email
address?
Yes, jlane628@gmail.com

Please provide any additional information below. The more details, the
better.

What username do you enter at the prompt?

I've tried both the username I chose and my username with the extra letters
attached as they show in the swiftp app

Same issue here. FTP through explorer.exe in XP does not work with global
proxy, however, Firefox will connect properly. This is great for fetching
files but I do not see a provision for uploading in Firefox (a plugin or two
claims to allow this but I want to be able to upload files from computers that
I may not have the access to install software). Checked iexplore.exe but it
turns up the same error as explorer.exe.

I also get "550 Invalid name or chroot violation" when using Firefox. When I
try chrome it keeps asking for password over and over. Using Filezilla FTP
client throws a failed to List error. It's definitely the (c1.swiftp.org)
proxy causing this. I say that because it all works fine when bypassing the
proxy using a WIFI connection.

What changed on the proxy?
Any guidance on this would be appreciated.

I can not log onto the server with the user name and password I chose either.
I changed my settings on my phone saved and closed the ap then reopened to see
if it needed to be restarted to save but I am still not able to log in.
