Last load of fixup commits #16

I need to change the original implementation a bit and this PR gathered a lot of fixup commits in the meantime, so I'm going to just turn this into a fixup PR and submit another one to really implement "Path specific settings".

And all those "trying to load setting definitions from old format...", will they be fixed also?

Thanks, the new commit fixes that.

Unfortunately the logspam won't be fixed, that's due to the old style add-on settings. The new-style settings were troublesome to implement in Leia but have been improved in Matrix - for now I don't want to manage two versions so I'm sticking with the old-style that works in both.

Gonna hold on this a bit until the details of Kodi core PR #16964 are nailed down.
