Qr code scanner not working

Hi,

On my mobile device I installed the android application and it doesn't work. When you go to qr code scan it shows a scanner with a black background.

• Device: Xiaomi Redmi 10s
• OS: Android 12
• Version 12.5.12

@daedalus can you please try the BitPocket app and see if that app's scanner works on your device? Both BitPocket and xBrowserSync use the same scanning package but I've modified it slightly so I'm wondering if the issue is down to the changes I've made or something more fundamental in the scanning package.

I am also unable to scan a QR code using xBrowserSync app on my mobile phone. The app detects the QR code and then reports that it is invalid (see attached image). Information re. my device is below. BTW, I attempted to use the BitPocket app as suggested in your reply to @daedalus. In this case, no matter how long I hovered over the QR code, nothing happened.

Same here. F-droid version of xBrowserSync (1.5.2) on a Redmi device with stock Android 10 (MIUI 12) cannot open the camera. Suggested app (BitPocket) downloaded and as expected app scanner doesn't work neither. This other app comes with a button to use the front camera. It doesn't work. In both apps flash light button works properly.

While in my own device (LineageOS) xBrowserSync works like a charm 😎

Same issue with black screen. It's impossible login in the app. QR scanner does not work and no manual enter mode.

I found a way how to solve issue with black screen on Xiaomi MIUI: you just need turn off dark mode for this application.
