it didn't import my bookmarks, it deleted them, fix this, don't delete the original bookmarks anymore. property change request, order to rewrite the defective plugin #491
brave browser was my main browser. i used to save my bookmarks in it, create new bookmarks in brave. because firefox would delete the bookmarks in firefox on every startup and load them from backup. firefox was the browser to sync with. brave didn't do this kind of delete and restore from backup. but it didn't import the new bookmarks, it threw an error. then it deleted all the bookmarks and restored them to brave from backup. my newly added bookmarks were deleted. it did this every time I opened firefox.
Stop doing that. change the way it works. have it compare the bookmarks in the browser with the bookmarks in the backup. to compare, have it import the bookmarks in the browser as a new file, then compare the new file with the backup in it. restore only the ones missing in the browser. i.e. copy the extra bookmark line it has to the bookmarks in the browser. it only backs up what it's missing. i.e. it moves the missing bookmark line to the backup folder. you can do it with a simple python script. then it deletes the new file it imported. why would it delete my bookmarks? delete the benchmark file it imported. so I don't lose data. My deleted bookmarks were my compromised accounts. one by one I was renewing and saving their passwords and email addresses. now I don't know which were my compromised accounts and I don't even remember which ones I renewed. because my bookmarks were deleted.
I just want you to know that you've heard a lot of bad words.
firefox and brave extension version: 1.5.2
how can I not say bad things. bookmarks made my job easier. in one folder I had a list of my accounts that had suffered a data breach. in another folder I had a list of accounts that I had deleted or changed the password and email info of the accounts that had suffered a data breach, this was the folder with the accounts I had protected. I wish I hadn't trusted you and taken a backup. you're going to start me over. you've ruined two days of my life. it's a terrible plugin. i should have known. there's nothing good for free. sorry. although you do have a paid version. but for some reason that's no good either.
