Fixed some minor bugs in the solver level.

I just renamed with _i_hat, _j_hat, and _k_hat as its a common vector notation and least confusing option considering we use _x/y/z for array orientations. Let me know if you need any other change otherwise it is ready to be merged one someone approves.
