bracketing broken

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Bracketing broken - set to take 7 exposures up and down at 1.0 EV centered on 
1/32 - 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

program returned following exposures

2 @ 1/15
2 @ 1/8
1 @ 1/2
2 @ 1/60
2 @ 1/125
2 @ 1/250
2 @ 1/500
2 @ 1/1000
4 @ 1/3200

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
DslrDashboard_V0.30.18, Nikon D7000, Google Nexus 7. Android 4.2.1

Please provide any additional information below.

Program did not appear to delete jpeg from the SD card on the camera

Reverting back to DslrDashboard_V0.30.17 fixed bracketing issue

I just checked bracketing with 7 over/under exposures with 1EV and 1/30 as 
center, and I get back the correct values.
1/3200 1/2000 1/1000 1/500 1/250 1/125 1/60
1/30
1/15 1/8 1/4 1/2 1 2 4

Was you shooting in M or A mode?
V0.30.17 and V0.30.18 has the same custom bracketing, there was no changes only 
the capture order is changed, so you will have the same result with V0.30.17.

Why should the program delete the jpeg from camera SD card?

Was you shooting in M or A mode? - I'm shooting in M mode - shouldn't be in 
aperture priority for HDR
I just checked bracketing -
Just upgraded back to  V0.30.18, rebooted the Nexus - shooting in M mode - when 
setting the brackets as mentioned above I now get these results in order:
1/3200, 1/6400, 1/1000, 1/1000, 1/2000, 1/500, 1/1000, 1/500, 1/125, 1/125, 
1/15, 1/8, 1/8, 2s (14 shots - should be 15)

I take you point about not deleting from the SD card, but the image browser 
allows me to select all the files and pressing delete removes them from the 
browser view, So I assumed it had deleted them - maybe this option should be 
disabled when in SD card view.

Also when setting the brackets for 1.0 EV steps the fastest speed jumps from 
1/2000 to 1/3200 - should be 1/4000 - the D7000 supports it.

Tried a few DLSR remote progs, and have to say this is the best - but going 
back to version V0.30.17 for now (would be nice to have the presets though!)

The delete button should delete the selected images from camera SD card. You 
wasn't clear about that so I didn't understand, will check that.

Will also check the custom bkt calculation, I also noticed the 1/3200 instead 
of 1/4000.

Did not answer but the custom bracketing should be now fixed in M mode.
I attached an apk that will be the next version published. This one has some 
fixes for the cameras with 2 sdcard.
Please check if you have time.

Just tried it, with similar errors as before:

Bracket sequence - centre exposure 1/30 - 7 brackets up and down

to return 1/4000, 1/2000, 1/1000, 1/500, 1/250, 1/125, 1/60, 1/30, 1/15,
1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1", 2", 4"

dashboard took the exposures at these shutter speeds (with exposure bias
values in brackets)

1/8000(-1.0), 1/4000(+1.0), 1/2000, 1/2000(-1.0), 1/500(+1.0), 1/250,
1/250(-1.0), 1/60(+1.0), 1/30, 1/30(-1.0), 1/8(+1.0), 1/4, 1/4(-1.0),
1"(+1.0), 2"

Tested in both Camera mode and Host mode - camera set to Manual

Nikon D7100 and Google Nexus 7

Not sure if I understand your post.
Just tested it with D7100. Camera is in M mode. Set shutter speed to 1/30.
Set the under/over count to 7.
The dialog displayed the following values
1/4000, 1/2000, 1/1000, 1/500, 1/250, 1/125, 1/60, 1/30, 1/15, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 
1", 2", 4"
Enabled custom bracketing and take the pictures and I got images with those 
shutter speeds, also I monitored the shutter speed in bottom line as it took 
the pictures and I the shutter values where as above.

I did the same proceedure. The bracket dialog gave me the values you just
mentioned, but the actual shutter speeds differ as outlined in previous
mail.

Using the latest version of Open CV manager - 2.7

Sorry , my mistake though - it's a Nikon D7000 (thinking of upgrading! must
have it on the brain!)

On a side note - what's the video like on the D7100? without the filter?
Any moire issues?

To be honest I had no time yest to test it :( Was more in making the app 
compatible with it.
Btw I tested a few more times and always got the right shutter speed. Set 
exposure bias to +1 and -1. I again got the shutter speeds from dialog with the 
exposure bias set to +1 or -1 in exif. I'm checking the shutter speed in exif, 
not sure where you check that. Also I tested it with JPG and RAW to and 
transfered the files to my PC and check the exif there and I always got the 
shutter speeds from the dialog.
Also tested with D5000 and got the same results with the right shutter speeds.
DslrDashboard in M mode changes only the shutter speed, not other property is 
changed.
In A mode it only changes the exposure bias compensation.

Just tried it again, with similar duplicated shutter speeds.

Btw I'm checking the shutter speeds of the images on the camera - just in
case Exif reported bogus speeds in my windows program

Guess it would be interesting to see if you have any other D7000 users to
see if you could replicate the error.

also just noticed that some of the shutter speed flick between two
different shutter speeds when actually taking the sequence in the display
at the bottom of DSLR dashboard

Ok, I check the shutter speed in camera image viewer and I got the right 
shutter speeds on D5000 and D7100 to.
I suspect there must be some setting that is affecting the shutter speed on 
your D7000 as the application only changes the shutter speed between the 
captures.

don't know what could be affecting shutter speed - it's manual on the
camera - no auto iso

I presume that when DSLR dashboard is running it takes over control of the
camera

Yes it takes control of camera but it does not change the settings.
Will try to find someone with D7000 to make the test.

A friend of mine tested with D7000 and he says he also got the right shutter 
speeds.

strange  - wonder what it could be...

could it be something to do with firmware upgrade? mine is 1.03

might be useful to see the steps you take to setup the bracketing to see if
I'm missing something?

last resort might to to reset the camera back to factory

After connecting the camera to N7.
I enable 'host mode' (so that DslrDashboard can disable the AF that the camera 
always try to perform).
Switch to M if not in M.
Set the shutter speed to 1/30.
Bring up the custom bracketing and setup the over/under count and EV step.
Enable the custom bracketing (long press)
Start the sequence with the capture button.
My camera settings are almost the factory default as I didn't change them.

just reset everything on the d7000 back to factory defaults and it works.
Of course finding out what caused it is another thing, but if I come across
it I'll let you know.

If you have any observations re video quality in your new D7100 re moire

I think just figured out what was the problem. You had enabled the built in 
bracketing on camera. I now enabled the built in bracketing and got similar 
results as you. The capture mode was in single mode.

you're right - I guess the camera is trying to bracket an exposure, but
DSLR dashboard then keeps overiding the shutter speeds , hence the
randomness in the resulting shutter speed sequence - wasn't aware that was
left on

on a side note - I can now delete images on the SD card from the program -
couldn't do that before, don't know if that's a consequence of resettting
the camera or one of your updates - but it's working now. Having fun with
it at the moment!

I did some changes regarding of handling cameras with 2 slots. With the D5000 
it was hard to test/develope as it only has 1 slot, with the D7100 having 2 
slots is now lighter.
