These are the rules for the ~orignal~ hacked game:
To start the game each player chooses their token and sets it down on the board, in the START square. The starter is raffled by throwing a die, the player with the biggest number starts, second biggest goes next etc.
Each round a player's turn consists of movement and action:
Movement
Players throw two dice to move, taking as many steps forward as the added number on the dice indicates.
Action
After moving the player takes one of n action:
1 Draw a card from the action card pile
2 Perform an action on the asset in the square
Set-up:
Player tokens:
In-game money:
Ideally money would be replaced with something else - game-currency or something altogether different?
Movement:
Throwing a pair of dice probably works here, unless the board changes radically.
Random events:
Will these be truly random or will the player's actions have an effect on them occurring? Maybe the player will be able to react to them, bringing about different results...
Jail:
Will there be an authority (NSA?) in the game, trying to stop the player? How about legislative branches of government - trying to pass legislation that makes online-life tougher?
Getting out of jail could be a chance event, like throwing a number of dice to create a strong enough code (using Diceware?)
Building(s):
What could the players construct on their property? Something that breaks down the grip of the monopoly...
Salary:
Again, preferably replaced with something - online/game karma/credibility (as seen on Forums etc.) for example?
