Need For Speed Underground #1396

Bug Description

Game audio is extremely crackly in menu/ gameplay

During the intro the audio is perfect and it runs fine, once you press start to get to the main menu the audio just starts to crackle. The game itself runs a perfect 30fps and doesn't miss a beat but the whole time you are racing or in the menu it just crackles. The game itself did not run at all properly but after the latest AMD Graphics Driver update (23.2.1) the game ran well besides the audio crackle

Expected Behavior

Crackling in Menus and in game

I'd like to follow up on the OP's post. The crackling now seems to be only in the menu. No other performance issues are being observed. FPS is stable both in menu and in-game. No crackling whatsoever during the gameplay (racing of any kind).

I may be imagining things, but I feel like crackling is only there when there's a car on the menu's background. It seems, when it leaves for a split second, the crackling disappears too.

Turning off the Real-time DSP processing feature or Vsync doesn't help.
