this game might have some issues related with AMD GPUs, i cannot replicate this on a NVIDIA gpu. Some issues were also encountered on mesa drivers with intel iGPU
Try using zink as your opengl driver instead of radeonsi. xemu and radeonsi have some interesting issues on the Steam Deck's chipset that can typically be resolved by using zink instead, and usually there's no noticeable perf loss.
For launch options in the Steam entry for the game if you added through Steam ROM Manager
__GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=mesa MESA_LOADER_DRIVER_OVERRIDE=zink GALLIUM_DRIVER=zink %command%

The first test was made both with and without Zink enabled.
I have the same issue on my M2 Macbook Air Xemu Version 0.7.111
