Jade Empire: Assertion failed #1687

Bug Description

Sometimes during a gameplay on very specific situations Xemu throws an assertion failed popup about the APU.c image

happens more often on the Tea House

the assertion failed appears sometimes, but the tea house is haunted, i can't do the fight there, after 2 seconds xemu crashes and corrupts the last save. definetly not playable

i find a way to bypass the assertion failed, first try to skip real quick the intro, then when the battle starts click "start" to open the pause menu, go back and do the battle spamming the pause button every 5 seconds finish the battle and you're safe now (but leave quick the tea house to save your game)

ok, sometimes pause the screen doesn't work and requires a huge combination of luck and timing to make it work. also spam a lot of saves (restarting the emulator) to prevent your parties got corrupted or deleted by a assertion failed crash, getting more progress in the game can triggers the crashes more often and unlock the saves deletion after a crash bug.
