Bug Description

When using the torchlight as a mercenary near raindrops, the screen flickers with a grey overlay:

(the torch is not rendered on master but this issue has been addressed by other PRs from abaire, and it happens there too)

Expected Behavior

Screen should not flicker when using torch near rain.

Pretty sure this related. Happens on the exam map of the tutorials in multiple places.
