Doesn't look like there has been any traction on this one. I just ran into myself. Is there any additional info that I could provide that may be of assistance in debugging this?

Recently tested this game using the canary-netplay build, v3.0.0 release.
As the OP has mentioned, there is an issue with this title related to saving.
Upon clicking campaign there is no prompt related to saving progress where as on console there is a prompt.
Upon completing the first campaign mission and defeating the Romulans and saving the Vulcan vessel, the screen freezes on Mission Successful. On console this would normally prompt saving progress.
Apart from the saving issue, this title runs very well. I will retest using the latest non netplay build a little later and post a log.

Issues
Skirmish mode is completely playable, with seemingly random texture corruptions (Sometimes there'll be none, and then when launched again a small texture is corrupted in-game, only seems to happen with specific textures). The first mission of Campaign is also playable, but the game hangs after the first mission completes, around where the game tries to save.
