Yes - using steam Rom manager.

First click on Create parser. Parser type: Glob Configuration Title: Microsoft Xbox 360 - Xenia Steam directory: /home/deck/ .steam/steam Roms directory: your roms folder for emudeck Executable: your master build .exe

Create the Parser by pressing Save at the bottom of the screen.

Now go to preview and press ‘Parse’. Your Roms should load up and then press ‘Save to Steam’.

I'm trying to do the same thing on my deck - how do you change the master in parser configuration? I assume this is Steam ROM Manager.

Awesome thanks @Chuubat , for anyone else doing this you have to change Steam Rom Manager's theme to do this.

Unfortunately I'm still getting the ground water texture bug - scibble_heap set to true :(

Havard-SL commented 5 months ago

I had the "transparent ground"/"ground water texture" bug even though I had set scribble_heap = true for both xenia and xenia_canary.

It turns out that it's important that gpu = any or gpu = d3d12, and it will work for both xenia and xenia_canary on my pc and with xenia_canary (installed with emudeck - see below) on steam deck. I still needed scribble_heap = true in order to play without the entire screen being white.

It runs pretty well as long as you have VKD3D (it translates directX 12 to vulkan) activated, which the steam deck has by default, but you may need to activate if you run xenia through bottles (as I did).

I noticed that the standard emudeck install of xenia installs xenia_canary and sets gpu = vulkan by default. This has to be changed manually (or possibly by a flag --gpu=any, although I have not tested this flag). This might be why it doesn't run on steam deck for certain people.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I'm running xenia on linux!! I should have mentioned that, I'm sorry, I've been scrambling through various linux articles, posts etc, so I ended up thinking this was a linux specific issue when I wrote this.

I had this exact issue as you describe it until I set scribble_heap = true in the config. Are you sure it is set correctly in your config file?

Hey! Are you definitely using the Xenia stable build? If you download it from here: https://github.com/xenia-project/release-builds-windows/releases Extract it into a new folder called Xenia Stable or something along those lines, right click in the folder and create the portable.txt file, then when you can access the .toml file change the settings. The portable.txt file will already exist in the canary build but the canary build is what is causing the problems— so use the build I linked above. Should be called Xenia-master! 😄 On Fri, 19 Jan 2024 at 4:48 pm, lempie @.> wrote: I am using xenia canary on steam deck and can't fix the ground being all water :( tried everything above but to no avail Hello, I worked it out. Using the stable build of Xenia works for the floor texture, to get around the scribble_heap true issue, you have to make a portable.txt file in the same folder as Xenia stable build which should give access to the stable build’s .toml file! 😄 Hey, the file portable.txt already exists... I am not sure what else to do to fix it as I already tried changing the configs? — Reply to this email directly, view it on GitHub <#292 (comment)>, or unsubscribe https://github.com/notifications/unsubscribe-auth/BFKYVSFLUW4BVGK4RXZDWYLYPKPUXAVCNFSM4BWHR7D2U5DIOJSWCZC7NNSXTN2JONZXKZKDN5WW2ZLOOQ5TCOJQGA3TKMJTGY4Q . Is there a fix for the garden names on master build? Master build runs best on my steamdeck, but the garden names are not reading as the name I set when creating it. I would use canary, but it only gets 15-18 fps for viva pinata trouble in paradise.

I've noticed a regression from last time I played? I tried to save and quit after verifying that the game still worked, and it crashed. I could hear the menu music, but also the loading music at the same time. My save did exist but IDK if it saved correctly.
