Managed to complete the tutorial and enter Pacific City. The game is playable at a low fps, it has no problems performance and graphics aside
With this not being updated in nearly a year, I tried this in my own time, then reporting the results. With starting a new save, and I'm able to get into the intro, but it freezes near the end I think? But I was able to get into the newly created save after restarting Xenia. Also the GUI and 2D sections works fine, but the 3D has tons of bugs and heavy glitching.
as mentioned in the Update section, but the GUI and 2D seems to work so far and run at normal speeds, while 3D is having a bunch of issues. Though the audio plays normally while 3D suffers. The "Microsoft Studios" startup screen plays at normal speed until a bit later into where it drops, though the start screen and start menu works fine. Also there's background lights flickering through the 3D objects when I was starting off in the tutorial
It's been another year with no updates, so I think it's my time to post one. Overall, the game is pretty much playable with minor graphical and audio glitches, and FPS drops. I think it would be possible to fully complete the game (I'm at 29% currently). I haven't experienced any crashes (other than the credits screen) or game-breaking glitches so far.

(Just in case)
As the previous post is nearing a one year mark, I'd thought to continue testing this game. Framerate In-game is very stable, until i move my camera right in the first section it hangs on what appears to be depth 3d view. Introduction of the game gets stuck on "Shields online." and doesn't progress.

The issue above seems to be caused be commit: xenia-project/xenia@538aa9101567a9d09fa21394e0b925856e957b2b
There is also the repeating menu / voice audio issue, that seems to be fixed by: xenia-canary/xenia-canary@1e469f6e59a32c1670774ba8b9d4375997450bc2, howerver this fix does seem to cause the issue of where you cannot get passed the start of the game as it cannot get passed the "shields and health online" part
Thought I'd put my input on this. The above issue is still an issue where you can't get past the first few dialogue in-game on the latest Canary build. cab3cc9
I did leave it for about half an hour to see if it would eventually move on but it doesn't seem like it wants to.
Edit: I used another version to bypass the section but it seems it loops on every other dialogue too, completely stopping you from progressing.

I'm having this issue as well. The farthest I've managed to make it is dropping down to the next zone but 90% of the time it gets stuck on the dialogue lines
Yep definitely a persisting issue, it's been like this for a while now, I check in on xenia every so often to see the progress with this game and forza motorsport 4. Crackdown 2 used to be playable with major lag when looking in the direction of the city but now you can't even pass the intro dialogue. Hope this is resolved at some point.
Edit: Using latest canary build as of 6/6/22 5:30 AM EST.
I've been testing this game with almost every update and happy to report the game has moved past the tutorial beginning where it would get stuck. On canary 14324bb8c (Jul 8 22).
So far, I've been playing through the first mission with no issues.
-edit 7/21/22: Ok, so "no issues" was a bit strong. It seems the narrator keeps saying the same lines "You just got your first agility orb, that's an achievement!" And others like that. Over and over again. It seems that once you level up or get something new that the narrator triggers, he'll stop.
-edit 7/22/22: Alright so the temp fix for the constant looping narrator is to turn voice down in the sound options in the game. You don't get the "narrative" of tapes and such but I don't play it for that.
It's not really clear in the preview, but the one main issue that I've had is with the water, where it repeatedly flashes like a strobe light. This occurs on all water textures in the game. Otherwise, I've had a smooth playthrough; framerate about at native speeds, no more audio repetition glitch for the tutorial mission, and I've been able to easily progress past the tutorial.
Played using Canary@7d740fb3c

# This prevents visual artifacts (interleaved stripes of parts of surfaces rendered and parts not rendered, having either the same width in case of the "greater or equal" depth test function, or the former being much thinner than the latter with the "equal" function) if the full host precision depth data is lost.
# This issue may happen if the game reloads the depth data previously evicted from the EDRAM to the RAM back to the EDRAM, but the EDRAM region that previously contained that depth buffer was overwritten by another depth buffer, or the game loads it to a different location in the EDRAM than it was previously placed at, thus Xenia is unable to restore the depth data with the original precision, and instead falls back to converting the lower-precision values, so in subsequent rendering passes for the same geometry, the actual depth values of the surfaces don't match those stored in the depth buffer anymore.
# This is a costly option because it makes the GPU unable to use depth buffer compression, and also with MSAA, forces the pixel shader to run for every subpixel sample rather than for the entire pixel, making pixel shading 2 or 4 times heavier depending on the MSAA sample count.
# The rounding direction is controlled by the depth_float24_round configuration variable.
# Note that with depth_float24_round = true, this becomes even more costly because pixel shaders must be executed regardless of whether the surface is behind the previously drawn surfaces. With depth_float24_round = false, conservative depth output is used, however, so depth rejection before the pixel shader may still work.
# If sample-rate shading is not supported by the host GPU, the conversion in the pixel shader is done only when MSAA is not used.
