Believe me! I'm not alone with that problem!!!! I have already reinstalled
drivers for my videocard and no difference! I'm not alone becouse many people
who use ATI (i have NVIDIA) card have that problem too!!!!!!
It happens on Nulldc 100b1.6 & 1.0.3. too but ONLY WITH DrkPvr plugin !
BUT WITH CHANKA PLUGIN THE TREES IS NORMAL!!!!

Maybe emulator not support GF 9 series and similar models of ATI?????

regions! It's just a plugin broblem! I think...

It ain't a bug, it's a feature. nullDC just checks the bad state of trees, then
prunes and trims them to look cool.

I get square/blocky trees on both a Nvidia GTS 250 and ATI X1400.
They're most obvious and quickly seen on the intro with the eagle and Shenhua
on the cliff (let the title screen run for a few seconds).

What do you mean? Not all trees in game are square? Yes, some trees displayed
normal, but not really all!
This bug is still exist! It is not fixed. Any settings of drkpvr cant fix it
(nor z-buffer nor sorting, nor something else)! nothing helps.
But on other emulators Chankast & Demul the trees are not square! BUT I DONT
WANNA PLAY Shenmue on Demul or Makaron! Sorry! I like NullDC much more! And I
dreaming about this fix if it possible ofcourse. :) Maybe DX11 plugin will help
fix it? Who knows?

I tested r81 one more time, the "square trees" become "normal tree" now!
I was just playing shenmue japan version in GDI disk2, and suddenly I

And something strange happens with fullscreen mode when I use "Maximum
supported" resolution -- second screenshot about that. I think we need to
create a new issue with it. Becouse for normal playing Shenmue in fullscreen I
need use only "native" resolution mode!!! It is no good!

Have same problem with blocky trees on all versions from 1.03 to 1.04r84. Videocard - Radeon 9600 XT. Pal version of Shenmue.

P.S. But I see very one strange thing. On Cranka video plugin the trees are
normal. DrkPvr based on Chanka code... as far as I know. So... maybe you
right... but I think, this "fix" can break another things in DrkPvr - here is
the problem probably....

It's still just code though, all that DX11 would do is provide pre-written code
to handle this issue. If Makaron can process the trees properly in DX9, then
nullDC can be changed to do likewise. Finding out how is the tricky part of
course :)

The game is "playable" ofcourse, I understand. But if it will be fixed the
Shenmue becomes looks like the real Shenmue on the real console!
