Object Sprites not loading from GM:S File #4

Open xfixium opened 7 years ago

Certain people are experiencing issues when loading Objects from a GM:S project file. All the imported objects have no sprites assigned to them, showing only the default red circle icon on the objects drop down.

Test files: testgmare.gmx.zip

Pollux568 wrote Oct 7, 2016 at 10:11 PM [x] I have this problem, no way to get around :/ (I tested gmare 1.17 and 1.18) And I can't export the room to GMS because of this issue.

gmare seems to import correctly objects when importing .gm81 projects, but not from .gmx

Xfixium wrote Oct 12, 2016 at 8:09 AM [x] When this occurred before, the individual let me have his project to test, however on my system the sprites imported correctly. So I was never able to find the root cause of the issue. This would seem to be machine specific. My only suggestion is to try running the program as administrator, and see if it corrects the issue.

Also, if you're ok with it, I could try importing from your project if you give me a copy. If that's not acceptable, I understand.

I tried as administrator, and I also tried to move everything to standard MyDocument folder (to avoid any Window-ish weird limitation), but the problem was still there. There is nothing specific to my project: from the standard scratch room, I try to import the example project ("gmare_example_gms.project.gmx"), and I get this sprite problem. It works correctly with the "gmare_example_GM81.gm81" file, though.

TesloStep wrote Jan 25 at 8:16 PM [x] Seems that Gmare and GMS file pattern of .project.gms are different: In attached files there is two examples - one generated purely by GMS and one generated by "export to GM" from Gmare. And (seems?) because of it, file from GMS wont opens properly in Gmare - objects have no sprite assigned.

P.S. Also, seems that error occurs only when your have at least one already created in GMS room.
