Just commenting with the same thing, in the hopes of getting some kind of notification later if/when it's resolved - keep up the amazing work! x
I didn't want to update. But heard Ubi have added their own mod loader. And of course, it didn't work! lol!
So, I need a new modloader file too. Sat here staring at my screen :(
I didn't want to update either, but that darn game refused to open/start/load... so figured they were perhaps twisting my arm more. - God I hate Ubisoft Connect. Tempted to buy it through Steam again just to maybe avoid it.
Sadly the Steam version has you login to Ubisoft Connect as well, so it's unavoidable.
No update needed, the new ubi modloader is working fine for me until now.
Which new ubi modloader? The latest version is from Dec 9, 2022.
They released a built in modloader a couple of days ago. It literally let's any mod work! No idea how they've done it, but it's impressive.

@Yanda2: As i wrote earlier, the python35.dll
which comes from ubi
. The version that comes originaly with the game!
I am only talked about python35.dll not about the complete package anno1800-mod-loader
You can still use the package anno1800-mod-loader (from Dec 9, 2022)
containing the mod manager
to configure the mods in a UI, but the mod loader
(embededd in the modified python35.dll) does not work anymore. So don't click "Install Mod Loader
". If you already have the old mod loader (python35.dll) installed, then rename python35_ubi.dll
back to python35.dll
It's works THNX Mod DonnyCheatMenu did problem
Trust me guys, get the Ubisoft built in loader working! No need to mess about with anything else, just download ANY mod you want (I've got over 43 mods active right now, which is 11,720 files) and they all work! I still can't believe it!
I just followed the instructions on the Anna Facebook page and yea, bingo! URL: https://www.facebook.com/annogame/photos/a.262726297121688/6188709124523346/
Thanks again to this modloader creator for all your dedication to the game. Good luck fellas :)
Hi, but which are the files of the old modloader to remove ?
@Fabius27 I removed the python35_ubi.dll - then validated the game files, clicked 'fix' when it popped up. Removed the mod folder and re-validated, started the game and it ran fine. Logged out - replaced the mod folder a few mods at a time and so far so good. There are some mods that were causing it to crash, but running now fully modded. Hope that helps - thanks to the guys here that gave me the idiots guide to doing it.
Oke there are multiple 'issue' ticket that are not issue at the moment. Thanks you https://github.com/xforce/anno1800-mod-loader/issues/216#issuecomment-1499846389 anno 1800 now indeed include a modloader
In the mean time i have tested old version of the modload https://www.nexusmods.com/anno1800/mods/35?tab=files. They dont work, but that was before I saw the facebook news. So for people that still have trouble. What worked for me:
I'm in the proces of testing all my mods and check which one crash atm. All listed mods worked with Anno 1800 Game update 16.x

No problem, I got the info from here.
Hi, guys) Had this problem, the game didn't see mods. Πfter hours of torment, I found out that the game sees mods only if installed in a standard directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Anno 1800. If your game installed on a different path, ubi mod loader don't work.
If you play on steam, put the mods folder in "user\documents\anno 1800"
As Ubisoft has updated the game to release 17.0.1222998 so the mod loader is not working properly any longer. Can this please be fixed?
