I submitted and issue to the vagrant project mitchellh/vagrant#1016

Hmmm...this will probably have to wait. I emailed Mitchell and he said his time is currently taken up by some new major features for vagrant. This would have to wait until after those changes. As we can see from the vagrant pull request and issue queues, no changes or fixes are being resolved at the moment.
