Plugin not working on Windows XP #8

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have Windows XP (SP3) with Firefox 3.6.12
2. Plug a controller and go to the sheep example:
http://javascript-joystick.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/examples/javascript/simple.h
tml

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Should have the sheep being controlled by the controller. Nothing happens.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Windows XP SP3, Firefox 3.6.12

Please provide any additional information below.

If you type "about:plugins" in FireFox's address bar, do you see the joystick
plugin listed?

Hi, yes, it is installed.
I don't have the problem at all on Windows Vista and 7.
Any idea? What can I do to help?

Thank you

I've added a new Windows installer - could you see if it makes a difference?
Does the IE version work? Does the installer details page show any errors?

Thanks, Carl.

Thank you for this update but it does not seem to solve the problem. In fact,
you'll find attached a screenshot of the install screen when completed:
something is wrong when . But the iejoystick.dll is present in Program
Files/Joystick Plugin though.

Hmm, still looks to be a dependency issue. Installing the Visual Studio 2005
runtime should fix it:

I'll look at adding that to the installer.

Sorry but didn't change anything :-(
Did you manage to reproduce the problem on your side?
Thank you

I didn't manage to reproduce it on my version of XP SP3. I'll create a fresh
install and see if that will reproduce it.

I have the same problem. I get the same error in the installation. In 3 Pcs
running, but where I want (a laptop old), gives that error. We also indicated
that 2 of the 3 pcs in which they work, using the same windows xp (same
installation cd). Hardware problem??
