It doesn't really matter. Pick whichever one is easiest to get working.

I've been searching online and have had trouble finding a way to get an swc model into code for use in pynn.

For now we don't even need to worry about a morphologically-defined neuron. We can do everything with e.g. neuron.IF_curr_exp and get most of the project working with that, and then substitute in realistic neuron morphologies later.
