Preference window easily lost #264

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open the Growl preferences.
2. Do whatever.
3. Switch to another application.
4. Try to go back to the Growl window via ⌘⇥ or exposé.

What did you expect?
I could get back to the Growl window without having to hunt for it.

What do you see instead?
The Growl window was difficult to relocate.

Notes:
TextExpander is not in my dock, but does show in in exposé. It isn't
⌘⇥-able but it is possible to find it again using the window manager.

The exposé issue is definitely fixable.

Perhaps a dummy app that runs while the preference window is open which, on
activation, opens the Growl preferences. Just a simple wrapper, but users could
also save it in their dock to get at the preferences easily as well.

I hit cmd+up and then I can find it. So far that's worked out in the new 10.7
window management system. Is that not the same for you?

Hm, not sure what's going on there. I'm not sure what causes it to hide itself
in exposé, but it's showing up for me now. I'll see if I can figure out what
happened last time.

Also, does TextPander show its icon in exposé?

Nope, no icon.

Alright, so at least in that regard Growl shows up the same on my system. I'd
love if Growl could show up in cmd+tab, however I think we're stuck without it
unless Growl has a dock icon.

I'd like to close this one tomorrow if you don't see the problem again if
that's alright with you.

That's fine. I'll report back if I see it happen again.
