What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.install the extension
2.create a profile (HTTP Proxy: 172.16.1.254 and Port:8080)
3.create a profile (HTTP Proxy: 172.16.1.254 and Port:8888)
4.Switch between profiles and direct connection

What is the expected output?
Proxy not switched.

What do you see instead?
Using the direct connection or the profile makes no difference when viewing
filtered webpages. Switchy icon grayed.

Switchy version: 1.6.3
Browser: Cromium 4.0.305.0 (0)
Operating system: Fedora 12 x86_64

After *never* having gotten the original Switchy plugin to work reliably, I 
finally switched to SwitchySharp.  Couldn't be happier.  Works like a charm.

This was working for years, but suddenly stopped.  Using Google Chrome 
22.0.1229.92 on OS X 10.8.2 and Proxy Switchy 1.6.3

Same issue here on OS X 10.8.

If you try and make a backup or export you get some extra error messages.

Looks like a possible permissions issue i.e. writing in the wrong location.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Switch to a defined proxy ( using socks 5 via local ssh tunnel)
2. After a few seconds, the icon turned back to grey and only "Direct 
Connection" is used instead

What is the expected output?
Using my defined proxy without issue
My proxy works if I directly go to the network settings in system preferences, 
and changed there.

What do you see instead?

1. Switch to a defined proxy ( using socks 5 via local ssh tunnel)
2. After a few seconds, the icon turned back to grey and only "Direct 
Connection" is used instead

Hello, to all users having this error, i recommand using a fork of this 
extension working perfectly well for me called "Proxy switchySharp".
And the plugin actually load :)

Yep, I confirm that Proxy SwitchySharp is working.
It is working in exactly the same system where Proxy Switchy could not work
