QuickCapture provides three ways to create a project. Starting from v1.5, a project can be created
By saving as a new project from an existing project.
From a selection of sample projects available as ready to use templates.
Directly from existing web feature layers.
Test Areas
Steps:
Sign in to QuickCapture designer. Follow instructions on the WIKI page.
Finish the test cases below and verify the function works as expected.
Test cases
Test case 1: Create a new project from an existing project
You can create a new project from the one you already own or any project that is shared with you.
Select the MY PROJECTS or SHARED WITH ME tab
Choose Save as from the project card menu of the project you wish to duplicate
For projects shared with you, you can Preview the layout and some basic information about this project, or View Results of the submitted records before using it.
Optionally change the title and directory, and choose Save.
This makes a copy of the existing project and creates a new project that references the same feature layers and map of the original. By default, the new project is not shared.
For projects shared with you, QuickCapture will create duplicates of the target feature layers referenced by the template project if Make a copy of the layers is selected. By default, the new project is not shared.
Test case 2: Create a new project from a sample
The QuickCapture sample projects are available for you to try out immediately by downloading in the mobile app, or as project templates. To create a project from a sample complete the following.
Click New Project and select Start from a template.
Choose one template project. Before using it, you can Preview the layout and some basic information about this project.
Click Use this template to create a project from it.
Provide a thumbnail, title, recovery email address and directory, and click Create. By default, QuickCapture will create duplicates of the target feature layers referenced by the template project.
Test case 3: Create a new project from existing feature layers
QuickCapture projects can be created from existing ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6 or later feature layers when they are registered as items in ArcGIS Online. These layers must be secured using token-based security and the credentials must be stored in the service item. If you intend to capture photos in your project, ensure that attachments are related to your feature layer using globalId fields.
